Three Separate Arrests Land the Same Day, and Japan's Threads Argue About Its Courts
Three arrest reports involving foreign nationals were published on the same day: three men in their twenties held over a Turkish-national theft ring linked to more than 100 break-ins across the Kinki and Hokuriku regions, two suspects re-arrested in Saitama over cash from burglaries, and a 25-year-old arrested over the sexual assault of a junior high school student. They are separate cases in different regions with different charges, and all remain at the arrest and investigation stage. The threads spent little time on the individual cases and a great deal on non-prosecution decisions, light sentences and the visa and trainee systems.
