Sushiro Opens in New York at $5 a Plate
Food & Life Companies announced its first US conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, near Times Square in Manhattan. It opens in October at 5 dollars for a two-piece plate, with no tip charged. Japanese posters mostly reset the number against New York wages and prices rather than against the 100-yen plates they grew up with.
