Sixteen RAM Sticks Vanish From a Chinese Esports Hotel, and Japan Checks Its Own Office PCs
Two people posing as guests at an esports hotel in Shihezi, Xinjiang, dismantled in-room gaming PCs and removed sixteen RAM sticks, reselling them through a flea-market app and physical shops for about 13,200 yuan. They were caught because they took every stick, leaving guests with machines that would not boot. Japanese threads spent less time on China and more on the clumsiness of the method and on the security of their own internet cafés and office machines.
