Fewer Foreigners Want to Work in Japan as the LDP Turns Its Eyes to Nigeria
A Mynavi Global survey found only 61.6% of foreign residents want to work in Japan for five years or more, down 14.7 points in a year as the weak yen erodes Japan's appeal. At the same time, LDP remarks calling Nigeria 'a hugely important country' went viral and drew a backlash framed around immigration, even though the party's Nigeria engagement reportedly centered on energy and resource diplomacy.
