Reports say Dodgers manager Dave Roberts won't rush Shohei Ohtani back to the mound this season, and a remark that Ohtani's demeanor changes between good and bad days went viral. Japanese reactions ranged from treating a slump as natural to tiring of the saint-like coverage.
Four unrelated stories surfaced together: a 33-year-old Vietnamese national held over the killing of a 91-year-old woman in Saitama, Kumamoto Prefecture's plan to place multicultural coexistence officers, a mosque imam teaching a class at an Osaka primary school, and Haneda moving its baggage cutoff earlier as on-time performance hit a record low. Readers stitched them into a single argument, and the word coexistence took most of the fire.
