The K-pop group NMIXX announced a Japanese debut for December, reviving anger over their past performance of 'Dokdo Is Our Territory', with a petition against it said to have gathered 50,000 signatures. The same day, Chinese posts calling Thai people and the Thai monarchy 'monkeys' were picked up as a separate story. Japanese readers rejected the first as a market play and analysed the second from the sidelines.
