Nepal Names China, the US and India Over Landslide Damage
Nepal's foreign minister, Kanal, told a local broadcaster that Himalayan glacier melt driven by global climate change caused the landslide near the Nepal-China border, and that China, the United States and India bear a historical responsibility to compensate. Sankei reports 1,000 dead and severe shortages of supplies. Nepal's own foreign ministry says the cause has not been fully established, and Japanese threads turned the question back on Nepal's own flood management.
